Hush by BaileysBeasts Hush by BaileysBeasts
Hush sculpture finally finished.

Someone suggested I try hot glue for his drool and stuff. I say it worked out rather well. I had to paint it though which I am glad didn't make it look too dumb.

I am pretty content with the finished product.

Wicked Character, I love it! It really is so cool. The character and his pose tell a really cool story.

WOW! amazing detail! I just started working with sculpy, and Im pretty good at the sculpting part. But painting seems difficult for me for some odd reason.

Do you have any tips?

Thanks!
Painting is a huge pain in the butt. I always have issues with it. I guess I am a better sculptor than painter. All I can say is you have to be patient with it. Maybe practice painting on paper or something.

Yes, your paint skills never cease to amaze me. @-@ Its so smoooth and shiny but mines always so chalky and so thick I can't add too much or it'll cover the details.

I try very hard to make sure it doesn't get like that. Some times it does and I have to just sand that part down and start over.
It's trial and error. Hopefully we will both get over that one day.

Yeah I'm trying to improve my painting skills still. Rubbing alcohol is my friend cause its good at wiping away mistakes lol. I also forgot to say the sculpture itself is way awesome, what did you use to make the black lines coming up his feet and paws?

If you use water based acrylics, adding just a little water to them can help since it thins out the paint, gets it into the cracks/details and doesn't clump up. You just have to use more coats of it, but the end result is worth it.

And thanks 8) I actually used a pen to add the very thin lines. It worked rather well.

Hmm I have been adding water to it but it still doesn't look very good. Maybe I need new brushes or something. x3

Ahh I thought it was something along thoes lines. I used a dull knitting needle to do the lines from Rojack's eyes.

Well, patience really helps as well. Making sure your brush strokes don't clump up and what not. Having good brushes is worth paying a little more for them, too.

I see I see, I'll try to slow my roll a bit then and invest in some good brushes, I need new ones anyway.

he came out gorgeous. I am glad to see him finished.
did you have to mix to get his main colors or were they easy to find/match?

Thanks.

I had to mix the colors. I had this nice yellow gray color already that I just had to add either white or gray to it to make the colors what they needed to be. So it worked out rather nicely.
